About powerTAG and the Test and Tag Process
Established in 2004, powerTAG is an Australian owned & operated family business.
powerTAG was established to provide an industry leading service to meet the needs of compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Act 2000, and specific compliance with legislative requirements outlined in Clause 64 & 65 of the OH&S Regulations 2001.
These regulations detail requirements that an employer must ensure that all electrical installations, electrical articles and associated equipment at a place of work are safe to use, and are regularly inspected, tested and maintained to ensure they remain safe for use, and are repaired or replaced if unsafe. The regulations also require that an employer must ensure a record is made and kept of all inspections and tests made and maintenance carried out on electrical equipment.
These regulations have significant penalties for non-compliance. Furthermore, non-compliance can result in the voiding of insurance policies and place liability back to the employer in the event of injuries and/or death.
powerTAG have developed our mobile Test & Tag Safety Solutions Service to provide you with the best possible management strategy to meet your needs for compliance with the OH&S Regulations for electrical safety.
By outsourcing this risk management task to powerTAG you can be assured of industry best practice in electrical testing, carried out in accordance with AS Code 3760:2003 by licenced technicians, with the added assurance of comprehensive insurance cover for both Public Liability & Product Liability each to the value of $20m, all of which provides you with compliance with your requirements under the OH&S regulations for electrical equipment.
Albeit there are provisions for risk management of testing, tagging and reporting to be carried out by employers and/or their employees, the requirements to have personnel trained for the task, the need for specialist testing equipment, the rigours of maintaining records and the lack of insurance protection, have clearly indicated to astute employers that outsourcing is a far more productive, non-intrusive, professional & economical course of action.
With powerTAG’s commitment to ongoing professional development in educational & technical advances in electrical safety risk management, you can be assured of being provided with industry best practice standards and service.
powerTAG, in providing further value adding, participate and assist wherever possible in the on site identification and resolution of strategies for electrical safety risk management.
powerTAG also provide our Smoke Alarms Safety Solutions service for installing, testing and certifying smoke alarms in workplaces, residential holiday and permanent rental properties.
